About this site
We both give advice to home and business PC users on computer security. This website started life as a rather boring advisory sheet which we sent to our clients. By making it into a website, we can keep it up to date with recent developments, share it with the world, and hopefully make it more interesting.
We are happy to make all of the advice on this site available to everyone for free, without any need to register. We will make absolutely sure that any advertising that appears here is from genuine security companies offering bona fide products. If you have found the site helpful to you, we would ask you to support us in the following ways. Firstly, do please tell your friends, family and colleagues about the site. Secondly, if you decide that you would like to buy one of the antivirus or Internet security products we have reviewed here, please click on the relevant link in our review. You will get exactly the same product at exactly the same price as if you had gone to the manufacturer's site directly, but we will make a small commission on the sale. We will never allow financial considerations to have any influence on the programs we recommend; apart from anything else, the last thing we want is to get a call from one of our clients, saying that the antivirus program we've recommended has failed to remove a virus, or gone into self-destruct mode.
All of the advice here has been carefully researched and is offered in good faith. We do not claim that following our advice, or installing any particular antivirus software, guarantees 100% protection against Internet fraud or malware infection. We cannot be held responsible in the unlikely event that you are the victim of Internet crime despite following the advice on this website.
